Three people who visit a gypsy fortune teller have their fates read, and it seems to the positive. However, negative situations befall each of them with each of them leaving their belongings in a trunk. Batman and Robin follow these individuals as they buy what they believe to be their trunks back at auction, thus, in a round-about way, fulfilling the fortunes of the seer they all once visited.
