About this Collection

This volume collects issues #11-13 of the Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight series, along with the one-shot Batman: The Ultimate Evil, featuring stories from the early 1990s. It includes tales by writers like Andrew Helfer and artists such as Chris Sprouse, focusing on Batman's detective work and encounters with classic foes like the Joker and Two-Face.

In "The Centuries of Crime!", Alfred’s rural fitness retreat takes an unexpected turn when Batman and Robin confront a sinister doctor wielding a mind-controlling potion. With Gotham’s defenses compromised, a mysterious figure known only as the "thin man" steps in—someone who knows more than he should about the Dark Knight and his partner. Written by Don C. Cameron and illustrated by Jack Burnley, with inks by George Roussos and lettering by George Roussos, this 2013 tale blends classic noir intrigue with a touch of the uncanny. The cover, by Dick Sprang, captures the story’s vintage flair with a striking, stylized image of the Caped Crusader in silhouette.

Endeavoring to lose some weight, Alfred goes on an exercise program at an out of the way place in the country. While he is gone, the Caped Crusaders face an evil doctor, who uses a certain potion that allows him to control the actions of people and, in the end, are saved by a mysterious "thin man" who knows their secret identities.
