The Amazing Spider-Man #652

Part one of "Revenge of the Spider-Slayer" arrives in this 2011 installment of Marvel's "Big Time" era, and the cover makes an immediate impression — Spider-Man's torn, battered costume is engulfed by enormous, dark mechanical spider-legs as he strains against their grip, his mask partially shredded to reveal a wild, desperate eye beneath. Stefano Caselli's cover work is visceral and tightly composed, putting you right in the thick of the wall-crawler's desperate struggle against what appears to be an overwhelming mechanical threat. Dan Slott and Caselli, with colors by Edgar Delgado, deliver a chapter that promises serious trouble for Peter Parker right from the opening image.
