Issue #49 of Mirage's long-running Eastman and Laird series delivers a visceral cover by A. C. Farley that pulls no punches — a battered, red-masked Turtle grapples mid-air with a grizzled, powerfully built human fighter, both figures tumbling across the composition in a blur of staff, straps, and torn clothing. Below them, a cracked and blood-streaked Foot Clan emblem hints at the stakes of whatever conflict is unfolding. With writing from Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and Jim Lawson — and interior art by Lawson — "Ripplings" looks like one of those raw, kinetic entries that reminded fans in 1992 why this black-and-white indie series carried so much weight.
