Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #36
In "Super-Senor's Pal!", Jimmy Olsen heads to the South American nation of Peccador on a routine assignment—only to stumble into a revolution disguised as a superhero myth. There, he meets the mysterious "Super-Senor," a local hero whose legendary powers are actually a carefully crafted illusion built by a humble peon named Pedro and his son Pancho to inspire resistance against the oppressive Bullboa. With Otto Binder’s clever storytelling and Curt Swan’s dynamic art bringing the adventure to life, this 1959 classic captures Jimmy’s unlikely role in turning a legend into a real force for change—cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye.

Perry sends Jimmy to the South American country of Peccador, to investigate rumors of a "flying man" that sound suspiciously like Superman. After arriving, he discovers the tyrannical rule of Bullboa, and the hero of the people, "Super-Senor." Super-Senor is actually Pedro, a self-declared peon, who, assisted by his son Pancho, creates the illusion of a super guardian for Peccador, in an attempt to bring down Bullboa. But it takes help from Jimmy and his Super-pal to make this a reality.
