About this Collection

This massive black-and-white volume collects Superman Family tales from the late 1960s and early 1970s, featuring stories from Superboy, Superman, and Jimmy Olsen titles. It includes the debut of the Newsboy Legion's return and classic Silver Age adventures by writers like Otto Binder and artists such as Curt Swan.

In "The Menace of Superman's Fan Mail!", a nostalgic flashback story from Showcase Presents: Superman Family #3, young Jimmy Olsen stumbles into an extraordinary adventure when he becomes the unwitting test subject for a time-travel experiment that sends him to Krypton’s past—where he meets Jor-El and Lara, and even babysits baby Kal-El. Though he returns to Metropolis with no memory of the journey, Superman, with his flawless recall, remembers everything and rewards Jimmy with a job at the Daily Planet and a special signal watch. Written by Otto Binder and illustrated with timeless precision by Curt Swan, with inks by Ray Burnley, this 2009 tale blends heart, humor, and a touch of sci-fi wonder, all wrapped in a cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye.
