“The Jaws of the Jaguar”

In "The Jaws of the Jaguar," Jimmy Olsen takes a break from chasing a fugitive to profile Lena Lawrence, a kind-hearted woman living with rescued dogs in a trailer. When escaped convict Clete Dutton returns to claim hidden loot in a nearby derelict building, Jimmy and his canine allies spring into action. With help from the dogs and a clever twist, Jimmy stops Dutton—leading to a surprising reward and a new home for Lena and her pack. Could her quiet life be tied to Jimmy in ways he hasn’t realized? Written by David George and illustrated by Kurt Schaffenberger, with a striking cover by Nick Cardy, this 1973 tale blends small-town charm with a touch of mystery.
