Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #157
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1973 DC issue presents one of the more genuinely unsettling cover images of its era: dominating the foreground is a figure in a purple cape and green shirt whose face is a smooth, featureless blank — no eyes, no nose, no mouth — while a startled Jimmy Olsen points from a doorway and Superman bursts in demanding, "Now… what's so different about this man?!" Nick Cardy's cover art wrings real suspense out of that unanswerable question, pairing the eerie mystery of "Secret of the Forbidden Face" with the backup tale "The Strange Second Life of Jimmy Olsen." A wonderfully strange entry in the long-running series, this one earns its "new" banner with a cover that sticks with you.
