Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #104
In "The Boy Who Hoaxed Superman," Jimmy Olsen accidentally turns himself into a giant turtle-man after firing an enlarging ray-gun through a turtle, leading to a bizarre rampage of collecting steel and dumping it into a volcanic island. Superman is called in to stop the chaos, but it's Lori Lemaris who reveals the truth: an Atlantean criminal used the ray-gun to control Jimmy telepathically, all part of a scheme to safeguard buried pirate treasure. With Curt Swan’s expressive art and Jerry Siegel’s classic storytelling, this 1967 tale blends sci-fi whimsy and underwater intrigue, all wrapped in a cover by Swan and Klein that captures Jimmy’s towering, shell-covered form in striking detail.
