Supergirl #69

Supergirl squares off against Captain Marvel Jr. in a charged mid-air brawl, fists raised and faces locked in fierce determination, while a downed CM3 lies sprawled in the rubble below — the cover by Kirk and Riggs makes it clear this is very much "Round Two." Peter David's run on the series had long embraced ambitious crossovers, and pitting Supergirl against the Power of Shazam's extended family delivers exactly the kind of super-powered clash that keeps readers turning pages. If you've been following this title through 2002, issue #69 looks like a satisfying escalation.
