Shaw drives home but is stopped by a force bubble. The aliens discuss their duel where they use the natural forces of a planet to fight. The villagers shelter in a cave to escape the battle. Shaw hears the aliens telepathically and learns that they have each won 127 victories on other planets. Shaw discovers the alien weapons are vulnerable to nitric acid and they leave Earth after shaking hands.
