Strange #227
In "Etranges semences," Peter, confined to the "mad dog" ward of a psychiatric facility, struggles to maintain clarity while searching for the wife of a Kingpin associate. As he grapples with heavy sedation, he attempts to rally the other patients—unsuccessfully—while Dr. Hope pushes forward with her dangerous experiments on the patient known as "Brainstorm." Written by Ann Nocenti and illustrated by Cyndy Martin, with inks by Kyle Baker and colors by Janet Jackson, this 1988 issue features a striking cover by Ciro Tota.
In "Mutinerie," Peter—under the guise of a patient in the "mad dog" ward of a psychiatric facility—struggles to stay lucid while searching for the wife of a Kingpin's enforcer, desperate to protect her from the mob boss’s reach. Amid the haze of sedation, he forms a fragile alliance with Vicki, and attempts to rally the other patients in a quiet rebellion, all while Dr. Hope secretly works to turn the patient known as "Brainstorm" into a weapon for the Kingpin.
In "Eaux troubles," Sub-Mariner teams up with the Avengers during a mission that takes them to the depths of Jamaica Bay, where they recover a mysterious cocoon holding the dormant form of the once-believed-dead Jean Grey. The discovery sets off a chain of events that tests the team's resolve and forces them to confront the unknown.
