Part nine of the sprawling "Grand Guignol" saga, this October 2000 issue of Starman arrives at a fever pitch, with a cover by Andrew Robinson that plunges readers into a clash of the supernatural. A determined figure in a suit and tie fires a blazing energy beam against a gauntlet of eerie, luminescent threats — a green-skinned specter, a flaming skull-faced figure, a blue ghostly form, and a pink-haired wraith — all pressing in from both sides against a blood-red backdrop. With James Robinson writing and Peter Snejbjerg on interior art, "Grand Guignol: Dixième Partie: The Devil's in the Details" promises that this penultimate stretch of DC's most ambitious Starman epic is anything but quiet.
