Space Adventures #38

Space Adventures #38 is an anthology containing three Captain Atom stories: "Backfire," "The Force Beyond," and "1 Second of War." In one story, the crew of the Silver Bird spaceship encounters an alien threat from interstellar space and must use a stellar drive to reach the sun while evading danger. In another, Captain Atom faces a critical moment when he hears a countdown triggered by an enemy button designed to activate missiles carrying mankind's total destruction, forcing him to act decisively to prevent catastrophe.
