This 1960 Charlton issue brings more of Captain Atom in a cover by Steve Ditko that sends two figures soaring through a star-filled cosmos — a caped hero and a blonde woman in a green suit riding a rocket-powered sled, arms outstretched as if meeting in the void. The cover teases "A Victory for Venus" with the tantalizing questions "Who were these beautiful creatures?" and "Has Captain Atom met his match?" paired with Joe Gill's interior story "The Space Prowlers," making this a wonderfully atmospheric slice of early-'60s science-fiction comics at its most imaginative.
