Solo Avengers #4

Paul Ryan's cover for this 1988 Marvel anthology puts Hawkeye front and center in a tense, unarmed showdown — the cover copy declares him "weaponless against the Wild Pack!" as a horde of armed, uniformed opponents closes in from every direction. The desperation on his face and the sheer number of enemies surrounding him make for a genuinely gripping image. As a bonus, a strip along the bottom teases the Black Knight backup story, "Rage of the Last Knight!", showing the armored hero in action — two solo adventures packed into one issue.
