Skull the Slayer #7
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeRon Wilson and Klaus Janson deliver a visceral cover for this September 1976 entry in Marvel's prehistoric adventure series — Skull himself is tangled in a net, muscles straining as he grapples with a snarling red creature, while a terrified blonde woman scrambles to escape below and a human skull rests ominously in the foreground. The tagline "Death Strikes in a World That Time Forgot!" and the story title "Dungeon of Blood" set a suitably grim tone, with a small inset panel hinting at dinosaur-filled jungle dangers as well. Bill Mantlo scripts and Sal Buscema pencils the interior tale, "Bury My Heart in the City of Gold," making this a satisfying slice of Marvel's mid-'70s sword-and-survival storytelling.
