Skull the Slayer #8

Marvel's prehistoric action series reaches a fever pitch with issue #8, as the cover — penciled by Jack Kirby and Marie Severin and inked by Frank Giacoia — erupts with Skull himself at center stage, shirtless and straining against a massive stone slab while arrows fly around him and his companions battle on all sides. Overhead, an archer rides a fearsome red winged dragon through a sky swarming with more of the creatures, as robed figures and armed warriors press the attack from every direction. The bold tagline "This God Must Die!" promises that Bill Mantlo's story, brought to life interiorly by Sal Buscema and Sonny Trinidad, is every bit as intense as this breathtaking cover suggests.
