DC's long-running Showcase spotlight turns to Power Girl in this 1978 issue, with the cover blurb promising that the JSA's super-star faces the threat alone — "When the Symbioship Strikes!" The cover by Joe Staton and Dick Giordano captures the tension beautifully: Power Girl, in her white costume with blue gloves and boots, trades blows mid-air with a red-armored figure whose face is visible through a transparent helmet, city rooftops tumbling away beneath them in a dramatic diagonal. It's a punchy, kinetic composition that makes a strong case for Power Girl carrying her own solo adventure.
