From DC's Showcase comes this 1962 spotlight on the Metal Men, featuring the book-length spectacular "The Day the Metal Men Melted!" Ross Andru and Mike Esposito's cover captures an urgent, charged moment: a hulking radioactive figure — labeled "DANGER RADIOACTIVE" — bursts forward in an explosion of flame, crying out to take Tina away before he contaminates her, while several of the metallic heroes scramble across the foreground in alarm. Robert Kanigher, Andru, and Esposito deliver a team under genuine pressure here, and the drama practically radiates off the page.
