“Chapter 1: The Chameleon of Crime!”

"Chapter 1: The Chameleon of Crime!" kicks off a mysterious adventure in Seven Soldiers of Victory Archives #3, a 2008 DC release with a cover by Jon Small. Written by Joe Samachson and illustrated by Arturo Cazeneuve, the story follows the Shining Knight as he tracks down a legendary treasure from Egypt, only to stumble upon a metal pyramid and a group of crooks trying to frame him. What begins as a high-stakes chase through the Hudson River leads to a baffling discovery: the so-called loot is nothing more than a pair of infant's shoes and children's toys.

Seeking the treasure of Darrel's, brought to the Hudson River from Egypt, the Knight discovers a metal pyramid and investigates. Hearing a cry for help, he runs into a group of crooks, who have heard other Legionnaires are being considered criminals for "stealing" things belonging to Darrel, so they attempt to make the Knight look similarly guilty at this scene. However, the Knight overpowers them, But the Shining Knight is puzzled since the loot he seeks turns out to be a pair of infant's shoes and some children's toys!
