This third Archive Edition collects classic Golden Age adventures of DC's Seven Soldiers of Victory, a team of lesser-known heroes including the Crimson Avenger, Green Arrow, Speedy, the Shining Knight, the Vigilante, the Star-Spangled Kid, and Stripesy. The volume reprints stories from the 1940s that showcase the original team's battles against a variety of villains, highlighting the pulp-inspired heroics and period charm of these early DC tales.
"Chapter 1: The Chameleon of Crime!" kicks off a mysterious adventure in Seven Soldiers of Victory Archives #3, a 2008 DC release with a cover by Jon Small. Written by Joe Samachson and illustrated by Arturo Cazeneuve, the story follows the Shining Knight as he tracks down a legendary treasure from Egypt, only to stumble upon a metal pyramid and a group of crooks trying to frame him. What begins as a high-stakes chase through the Hudson River leads to a baffling discovery: the so-called loot is nothing more than a pair of infant's shoes and children's toys.
