Part two of "The Scorpion" arc arrives in this September 1994 installment of DC Vertigo's noir pulp series, with cover art by Gavin Wilson that sets a genuinely unsettling tone. The cover presents a shadowy, masked figure rendered in moody blue tones, looming alongside a vintage rotary telephone — atmospheric imagery amplified by the chilling prose quote: "Spitting with fury, the masked intruder stomped his heel deep into the pulpy eye socket."
