Part four of the "Worlds' End" arc, this 1993 Vertigo installment carries a haunting Dave McKean cover — a close, shadowed face wearing a knowing half-smile, with an outstretched hand overlaid by the stars and stripes of an American flag, the whole image shimmering with an eerie, photographic quality. The title "The Golden Boy" hints at themes of ambition and promise waiting inside, brought to life by the collaborative pencils and inks of Bryan Talbot, Michael Allred, and Mark Buckingham under Neil Gaiman's writing.
