This December 1997 issue of DC's Robin puts Tim Drake front and center — literally — with a striking close-up of the Boy Wonder's masked face, jaw set and teeth gritted, as a blade presses dangerously close to his temple. Tom Grummett's pencils and Terry Austin's inks give the image a taut, immediate energy that makes it hard to look away. Chapter 2 of the "Warchild" arc, written by Chuck Dixon with interior art by Eduardo Barreto and Bob Smith, promises the kind of street-level tension this series consistently delivered in the late '90s.
