March works for Alan but he thinks she’s a glamorous, unattached career girl. She actually lives with her married sister and her husband, and helps care for their young son Pudge. Although he and Arlene love each other, Alan breaks off their romance. Arlene thinks it’s another woman, but it’s because Alan is caring for his orphaned niece, and doesn’t believe March would be happy as a mother and housewife. March reveals her true nature and they will wed.
