Real Secrets

Ace Magazines’ Real Secrets (1949–1950) was a short-lived, four-issue comic series that leaned into the confessional romance and crime drama trends of the late 1940s. Artists Ann Brewster and Ken Rice, along with an unidentified painter, provided the moody, expressive visuals typical of the era’s pulp-influenced comics. Though brief, the series captures a transitional moment in the industry, when publishers were still experimenting with the boundaries of the Comics Code Authority’s looming shadow.
