The story arc, 'The Son and the Stars,' sees Dox confronting the legacy of his father, Brainiac, while dealing with a new threat that emerges from the stars, testing the bonds of his team and his own morality.
In "null," Adam Strange and Captain Comet share intel on the Green Lantern Corps' war with Dox, only for Bounder to interrupt with news that Vril has vanished. As Dox and his allies set out to find Lyrl, they’re ambushed by Starro’s High Vanguard—only for Lyrl to convince them to take him alone. The pursuit leads them into a brutal clash with Black Lantern Stealth, then straight into a battle between the Sinestro Corps and Black Lantern Harbinger, whose death triggers a desperate ring hunt that lands on Dox.
In "null," Vril Dox, wielding his Sinestro Corps ring, buys time for his team to regroup on the planet Kandato as Black Lanterns close in. Meanwhile, on Maltus, Lyrl—now known as Brainiac 3—has constructed a transmatter portal for Starro, only to be ambushed by the High Vanguard, now all Black Lanterns. When Dox’s team is overrun, Lyrl, Smite, and Starro teleport in, pursued by the same undead forces—leading to a desperate choice that tests loyalty and legacy.
In the wake of a cosmic clash on Maltus, Lyrl intervenes to halt Starro’s battle with the Black Lanterns, banishing them into a black hole’s event horizon—freeing Starro to focus his gaze on Earth. Meanwhile, Dox redoubles his efforts to gather the tools needed to stop him, while deep in Starro’s home galaxy, the Omega Men uncover a weapon that might finally end his reign.
In the far reaches of Starro’s galaxy, the Omega Men race against time to find a way to end the Conqueror’s reign, while Dox hones a desperate weapon of his own. When Lyrl makes a shocking choice, turning on Starro with a plan that could unravel everything, the fate of the Psion Station hangs in the balance.
In "null," Dox faces a desperate stand against Starro’s growing control, as even the Omega Men’s desperate counterattack fails to break the alien’s grip. With the fate of the rebels hanging in the balance, Dox must find a way to disrupt Starro’s symbiotic bond with his starfish—using a poison dart that may be his only hope. After the dust settles, Dox reveals a bold new mission: re-activating L.E.G.I.O.N.
