“Secret Weapons”

The cover of this March 2010 installment says it all: a green-skinned figure in a jacket grips a snarling, pink alien creature by the head, hoisting it toward the reader with a confident, dangerous grin. Kalman Andrasofszky's cover composition is all controlled menace — the close-up framing and the creature's jagged teeth make the power dynamic unmistakably clear. With Tony Bedard, Geraldo Borges, and Scott Hanna continuing their run on "Secret Weapons," this is exactly the kind of cosmic sci-fi tension that makes R.E.B.E.L.S. such a compelling corner of the DC universe.
