Trapped in the cavern of mutants from the previous story, the Heap feels the antidote he was given by his friend (issue #4) begin to work as he begins to revert back to human (Jim Roberts). Now that he's powerless, he is at the mercy of the mutants. He then gets attacked by a giant spider (another of the mutations). Jim and a sheriff he's with, manage to impale the spider with a huge log. In its death throes, the spider causes the cavern to cave in destroying the mutants. Jim escapes and is reunited with his love. All seems well, until the antidote wears off and he reverts back into the Heap.
