Power Man and Iron Fist #96

Cover by Denys Cowan puts the villain Chemistro front and center — a menacing red-and-white armored figure looming triumphantly over a fallen Power Man and Iron Fist, who are tangled in what appears to be some kind of transmuted debris at his feet. The tagline "Chemistro's Final Triumph?" makes it clear the Heroes for Hire are in serious trouble, setting up a tense 1983 Marvel showdown. With interior work from writer Kurt Busiek and artist Ernie Chan — inked by a young Mike Mignola — this is a satisfying slice of street-level Marvel storytelling.
