DC's long-running war anthology delivers a cover that poses the question right on the image itself: "Where the devil is Rock? Don't he know there's a war on?" Joe Kubert's split composition tells the whole tension at a glance — on one side, Sgt. Rock is surrounded by laughing, grabbing women at what looks like a lively party, while on the other, his Easy Company comrades are slugging it out in fierce combat without him. It's a sharp, visually witty setup from Kubert that makes you want to flip straight to the story.
