History

The series was conceived as early as 2023, when editor Tom Brevoort planted the seeds of Doom's Sorcerer Supreme arc inside the Blood Hunt event, with Ryan North—already writing the critically praised Fantastic Four ongoing since 2022—brought in to shepherd the core nine-issue miniseries. The project was originally solicited as a five-issue limited series under the title The Rise of Emperor Doom before being expanded and renamed, with its launch shifted from a planned November 2024 date to February 2025, timed partly in proximity to the Avengers: Doomsday film. R.B. Silva, whose Marvel résumé included Powers of X and Captain America: Symbol of Truth, served as the consistent interior artist across the run, with David Curiel on colors and VC's Travis Lanham on letters; Tom Brevoort edited the entire series.
