Jay betrays his team by telling the New Mutants that the Hellions plan on rescuing Kevin from the FBI. Rather than running to the adults, the New Mutants decide to handle the situation themselves, especially when they learn that Wind Dancer is helping Julian's squad. As the two teams are battling, the X-Men show up and send them home. Kevin is cleared of all charges and returned to the school. He decides to switch to the Hellions as they came to his defense.
