Fifty issues in, this 2012 series finale brings New Mutants to a close with a cover by John Tyler Christopher that speaks volumes without showing a single face — multiple hands reach inward to grasp a circuit-etched weapon against a blood-red background, one gloved hand bearing bloodstains and a beaded bracelet while flames flicker at the edge of the frame.
