“Return of the Legion, Part 2: Security Blankets”

New Mutants #2 (2009) plunges readers into something genuinely unsettling, with Adam Kubert's cover depicting a wild-eyed, crackling figure — seemingly torn apart or revealed through jagged, ripped layers — radiating an eerie, fractured energy that feels deeply unstable. The tattered-paper visual effect creates a striking sense of something threatening to break through, hinting at a mind or reality barely holding together. With Zeb Wells writing and the artistic team of Diógenes Neves, Cam Smith, Ed Tadeo, and John Rauch handling interiors, "Return of the Legion, Part 2: Security Blankets" looks like a tense and atmospheric chapter in this Marvel series.

In a small town in Colorado, Bobby and Sam have found the missing Karma but she seems almost comatose. It turns out that this is because her mind is inside of the body of David Haller, also known as Legion. One of David's more violent personalities takes over and he lashes out at Magik and Magma. He then takes off to track down and kill Dani Moonstar who is locked up in the local jail.
