A red-haired boy at his side urges him on with the rallying cry "Make 'em say uncle, Sam!" — a punchy bit of wartime spirit that perfectly captures the mood of the home front. Al Gabriele's cover work is energetic and bold, and with Otto Binder scripting the interior, "Uncle Sam Needs You!" sounds like exactly the kind of red-white-and-blue adventure this era delivered at its best.
