Ms. Marvel #9

Part two of the "Generation Why" arc finds Kamala Khan face-to-face with a striking, pink-haired figure enthroned in an otherworldly setting, her flowing locks swirling dramatically across the entire background. On the cover by Jamie McKelvie, a wide-eyed Ms. Marvel and a massive, tuning-fork-collared bulldog — clearly Lockjaw — look up at this mysterious seated figure with what reads as equal parts awe and uncertainty. G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona's 2014 series continues to blend superhero adventure with a wonderfully grounded teenage perspective, and this issue looks like it's about to raise the stakes considerably.
