Monty Hall encounters a Japanese boy named Jiro and his uncle while on patrol, and learns of a planned waterfront meeting involving an undercover agent who will provide a password to expose communist activity. After being invited to dinner by locals who mention Chuck's involvement in the scheme, Monty receives a love note containing the password. The issue concludes with Monty and his unit preparing for a patrol on the waterfront to intercept the communists. An additional story titled "Short Timer" by Staff Sergeant C.F.X. Bouta depicts Marine riflemen holding a frozen hill position in Korea during intense combat, with Sergeant Williams and Corporal DeSantis managing their exhausted squad through enemy sniper fire and machine gun attacks in bitter cold conditions.

Three U.S. Marines on furlough in Japan find themselves drawn into a dangerous mystery when their acquaintance, the famous Wild West showman Dacy Lang, vanishes without a trace—leaving only his abandoned white car as a clue. With help from a determined local boy named Jiro, Monty Hall and his fellow leathernecks set out to track down the missing cowboy, only to stumble into a plot of sabotage and betrayal rooted in the lingering bitterness of recent war. Racing against time and facing threats far more serious than the rhubarb that erupted at Dacy's rodeo practice, the Marines must solve the mystery before it's too late.
