Monty, Tex, and Canarsie find themselves pressed into duty with a stranded armored outfit whose tanks are mired in mud, and they hatch an unconventional plan to salvage disabled vehicles by swapping engines between models. When enemy tanks unexpectedly close in and the salvaged experimental tank proves combat-ready, the three Marines must put their improvised machine to the test in a race against the clock.

Monty Hall takes charge as a drill instructor at boot camp, determined to transform a ragged group of recruits into disciplined Marines in eight weeks—but he'll need to reach hothead Pete Ford first, a cocky college boxing champion who's more interested in his own glory than his platoon's survival. When Pete clashes with Chuck Clark, a professional welterweight in a rival instructor's platoon, Monty sees an opportunity: a boxing match that might finally teach Pete what it means to be a Marine. As the fight looms and basic training pushes the boots to their breaking point, Pete must learn that real strength comes from something deeper than athletic prowess.

Canarsie thinks he's signed up for an easy lecture gig with a group of women Marine recruits, but the spirited recruits—including a former circus strongwoman, a rodeo cowgirl, and a Mexican bullfighter—have other plans to prove they're just as tough as any male Marine. When bank robbers unexpectedly hole up in a mountain cabin near their hiking route, Canarsie and his unconventional unit must work together to turn the tables on the criminals.
