Men of Mystery Comics #111
"Realm of the Ghosts!" kicks off in Men of Mystery Comics #111 (2019) with a chilling mystery: a strange, flying metal object destroys the U.S. Cruiser "Brooklyn" and the S.S. Aurentic, then vanishes after disabling every plane sent to stop it. With Washington D.C. now in peril, the President’s Cabinet turns to the ailing Dr. Gilday, who, in a desperate final experiment, activates his Atomic Supervitalizer—only to be transformed into something far greater. The story, illustrated with bold, dynamic lines by Dick Fletcher, unfolds with a sense of urgent dread, as a lone scientist confronts an unknown threat from beyond. The cover, a striking piece by Charles Biro, captures the moment of the craft’s arrival, its silhouette looming over the nation’s capital.

The U.S. Cruiser "Brooklyn" spots a weird, flying metal object and radios authorities with information. But the mysterious object blows the ship to pieces as well as the S.S. Aurentic which was sent to investigate. The mysterious craft then appears over Washington D.C. and shoots down every airplane sent to intercept it, then disappears. The President's Cabinet decides to turn the matter over to the dying Dr. Gilday. He travels to his lab to finish work on his Atomic Supervitalizer anyway and accidentally falls into it, gaining tremendous powers and abilities, and vows to take on the craft.
