A newspaper society editor's wedding is disrupted when a woman is kidnapped, leading Dick Marlin (the Pyroman) to investigate her disappearance. Dick discovers that Joyce, the bride, was being trailed by someone willing to murder her to obtain an idol she possessed, and he races to save her life while the Acapulco police pursue their own investigation. The story culminates in a dramatic rescue involving an elevator cable sabotage and a confrontation that reveals Joyce was being targeted specifically for the valuable idol.
