Master of Kung Fu #62

Issue #62 promises "a startling new direction — a savage new quest," and the cover by Jim Craig and Tony DeZuniga delivers on that promise with real energy. Shang-Chi, bare-chested in his red pants, unleashes a powerful kick against a wave of knife-wielding attackers amid gnarled trees and shallow water, while a cloaked, blade-wielding figure descends from above in a setting titled "Coast of Death." Doug Moench's story "Red Seas" and the artistic team of Craig, John Tartaglione, Phil Rachelson, and letterers Karin Kish and Gaspar Saladino make this 1978 issue a compelling read for any fan of Marvel's martial arts era.
