Marvel's oversized Treasury Edition format gives "The Fabulous Fantastic Four" the grand showcase they deserve, with all four members assembled in striking fashion across this December 1974 special collector's issue. John Romita's cover pencils and inks present the Thing's craggy bulk front and center, Mr. Fantastic lunging dynamically overhead, the Invisible Girl poised with quiet confidence behind them, and the Human Torch blazing brilliantly to the right — a cityscape glowing beneath the whole ensemble. Inside, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's storytelling (inked by Dick Ayers and Joe Sinnott, with lettering by Artie Simek) promises the kind of adventure that earned Marvel's First Family their billing as "The World's Greatest Super-Team.
