Marvel Team-Up #3
Marvel Team-Up #3 is the third appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire, arriving only months after his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101–102, and it serves as the first multi-issue arc dedicated to the character — part one of a two-part story concluded in issue #4. The issue is also historically significant as the closing chapter of the brief period when Spider-Man and the Human Torch were locked in as the permanent co-headliners of Marvel Team-Up; after just three issues together, the Human Torch was rotated out in favor of a guest-star format that defined the series for its entire 150-issue run. In "The Power to Purge!", Morbius' fiancée turns to the Fantastic Four for help tracking down her missing lover, leading the Human Torch and Spider-Man on a desperate hunt through the city. With Morbius slipping further into darkness, the duo must confront the creature they can't quite bring himself to stop—before it's too late. Written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by Ross Andru with inks by Frank Giacoia, the cover by Gil Kane and Vince Colletta captures the tension of a hunt that's as much about humanity as it is about monsters.

Writer Gerry Conway scripted the issue with pencils by Ross Andru and inks by Frank Giacoia, under editor Stan Lee — the same core creative team that had handled the first two issues of the young series. Conway, who was only nineteen when he began scripting Amazing Spider-Man, was already deeply embedded in the Morbius mythology, picking up narrative threads directly from Amazing Spider-Man #101–102 where Morbius had debuted under Roy Thomas and Gil Kane. The cover was provided by Gil Kane and Vince Colletta, giving the issue a more polished presentation than the interior pages. The issue debuted the series' first letters page, 'Mail It To Team-Up,' signaling that editorial regarded Marvel Team-Up as a settled ongoing concern rather than a tryout title.
