“The Power of the Thunder God!”

In "The Power of the Thunder God!", Thor ventures into Vietnam in search of Loki's Norn Stones, only to be felled by a hunter's anesthetic arrow—unaware that the man is being manipulated by Loki himself. When the hunter discovers a hidden temple, his consciousness merges with the ancient Destroyer, awakening a weapon of unimaginable power. As the Destroyer turns on Thor, Loki realizes too late that he’s unleashed something beyond his control, and with Odin in the Odinsleep, there’s no one to stop it. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life with dynamic art by Jack Kirby, with inks by Vince Colletta, colors by Stan Goldberg, and letters by Artie Simek, this 2011 Marvel Masterworks issue features a cover by Jack Kirby.

The hunter then discovers the hidden temple of the Destroyer. The hunter's consciousness enters the Destroyer. It awakens and engages Thor in battle. Loki realizes he has made a mistake-- the Destroyer is too powerful! He tries to warn Odin. Unfortunately, this is the day of the Odinsleep and he may not be disturbed.
