Marvel Comics Presents #101

From the unmistakable cover hand of Sam Kieth, this 1992 anthology issue frames a striking standoff between a crouched, ready-for-action Wolverine in his yellow-and-blue costume and a looming, dark-caped Nightcrawler hovering above him with his signature blue complexion and prehensile tail curling nearby — with what appears to be a mossy, vine-wrapped figure lurking in the background. The dramatic low-angle perspective gives both mutants a raw, physical presence that leaps right off the page. Inside, Ron Marz and Scott Kolins kick off "Male Bonding Part 1: In the Center Ring…," a story that clearly puts at least two fan-favorite X-Men in each other's orbit in compelling fashion.
