Published with a cover date of June 1993 and released on April 27, 1993, the issue appeared under editor-in-chief Tom DeFalco during the anthology's mid-run period. By this point the series had been operating in a flip-book format since issue #90, with Ghost Rider locked in as the co-lead feature alongside Wolverine; the cover was handled by James W. Fry III and Harry Candelario. The four contributing creative teams — James Felder and Dennis Jensen on Wolverine, Sandy Plunkett solo on Ant-Man, Joey Cavalieri and Dave Hoover continuing Iron Fist, and Karl Bollers and Freddy Mendez launching the Ghost Rider/Cage arc — were a typical mix of established anthology contributors and newer voices, consistent with the series' longstanding role as a platform for creators at varying stages of their careers.
