Martian Manhunter #2
The second issue of John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake's 1999 ongoing series delivers a striking cover: J'onn J'onzz surges forward in his classic red-and-blue costume, fist raised, as brilliant blue energy beams streak around him and a massive mechanical vessel — Antares — looms overhead firing a blazing red shot. The sheer scale of the machine against the city far below makes the threat feel genuinely imposing, and Mandrake's linework gives the whole scene a kinetic, almost cinematic charge. If this cover is any indication, "Bio Armor Jade Warrior!" promises the Martian Manhunter facing odds that would give even the Justice League pause.
