Marmaduke Mouse is clearly having one adventure-filled dream in this charming May 1956 Quality Comics issue — the little guy has dozed off mid-bed, feathered cap on head and bow in hand, with a copy of Robin Hood Tales lying open beside him and a crescent moon glowing through the bedroom window. The "ZZ-ZZ-Z" floating above him tells the whole story: one too many pages of swashbuckling bedtime reading and now he's off to Sherwood Forest in his sleep. With a story titled "Big-Hearted Cuthbert" written by Eric H. Fare, this is a delightful slice of the gentle, humor-filled fun that made this series a treat for young readers.
