Marmaduke Mouse #41

Freshly graduated private eyes Marmaduke Mouse and Philo Pup hang out their shingle and set out to find their first case—spotting what they're convinced is a bank robbery in progress when they see Cuthbert Cat leaving the Ninth National Bank with a suspicious sack. The two eager detectives spring into action, enlisting help from a bloodhound and the police force itself to track down their quarry, confident they've already cracked the case wide open.

When Baron McSqueeze convinces Prince Pinky to issue new tax bills, the wily tax collector uses the opportunity to steal the kingdom's gold—then blames the notorious outlaw Rubberhead for the theft. Young Marmaduke Mouse and his pal Pudd uncover the scheme and seek out Rubberhead and his merry men in Curwood Forest, hoping the legendary robber will help restore the king's fortune. What unfolds is a wild chase as Rubberhead and his crew take back what was stolen, though the clever outlaw has one final trick up his sleeve.

Marmaduke Mouse and his pal Pudd tag along with the Prince to the circus, where a series of mishaps—from helping a sideshow performer to accidentally exposing the strongman's fake act—gets them into hot water with the circus staff. When Pudd sneaks back under the tent to reunite with his royal friend, he stumbles into far bigger trouble than anyone expected.
